This museum boasts a Camp Meeting Era "Tent" structure, which houses a collection of artifacts and memorabilia pertaining to the early days of Rehoboth Beach as a religious retreat.

 

Indian River Life-Saving Station

The Indian River Life-Saving Station Museum is a historic site located within Delaware Seashore State Park. Self-guided tours of the museum are offered year round and provide visitors with the opportunity to learn about the history of the United States Life-Saving Service, precursor to the current day U.S. Coast Guard.

The Lewes Historical Society recently celebrated the opening of its new museum space featuring their collection of tens of thousands of historic artifacts, artwork, documents, maps and photos. Staffed by skilled professionals from the Society, the Museum serves as the primary source of information about Lewes for visitors, researchers, students and residents. 

 

Lydia Black Cannon Museum

Operated by the Milton Historical Society, the museum is located in a former Methodist Church that was originally built in 1857. Its exhibits include original art, sailors’ decorative folk art, photographs, ship building tools, sailing implements, and ships’ logs related to Milton and the Broadkill Hundred. A self-guided audio tour of the town of Milton is available.

 

Marvel Carriage Museum

Exhibits include horse drawn carriages and related memorabilia, telephone memorabilia, a working church, one room school house, blacksmith shop, small gas station, barns, and other miscellaneous displays too numerous to mention. Nanticoke Indian Museum

The Nanticoke Indian Museum is the only Native American Museum in the state of Delaware. Although a small museum, its collection includes thousands of arrowheads, pottery, axe hammers and other objects, all of which are homemade. Visitors gain a new appreciation of the work that goes into creating Native arts and leave with a new understanding of Native American culture.

The Rehoboth Art League is located on a historic, 3.5+ acre campus in Henlopen Acres, DE, just one mile from downtown Rehoboth Avenue. The campus encompasses five buildings—two of them historic—that house galleries, classroom spaces, Permanent Collection of artwork, pottery studio, children’s activities, administrative offices, and more.

Run by the Rehoboth Beach Historical Society, this museum celebrates the 130-year history of this seaside city. It is a kid-friendly museum with beach-related memorabilia, photos and rotating exhibits of local interest. It even has a small gift shop to visit before you leave.

 

Zwaanendael Museum

Built in commemoration of Delaware’s first European colony, Swanendael, established by the Dutch in 1631, the museum serves as a showcase for the Lewes area’s maritime, military and social history.
